How to get to the Hotel Tren Maya Palenque?
The Palenque Hotel will be located in an exclusive area, just 2.1 miles (3.5 km) from the prominent Palenque Archaeological Zone, considered one of the most significant places of the Mayan Culture, 3.3 miles (5.4 km) from the City of Palenque, and 5.5 miles (9 km) from the Palenque Station.
Additionally, it is at a distance of 6.2 miles (10 km) from the Palenque International Airport.
Archaeological Zone near the Hotel Palenque
The ancient name of Palenque was: Lakamha, “Great Waters,” due to its proximity to permanent water sources. It was the seat of a powerful dynasty to which King Pakal belonged.
Its impressive architecture, sculptural representations, and the written records on the numerous panels found in the city account for the political and religious life, as well as the military events that forged the power of Palenque. The complex urbanization of the city involved significant modifications to the terrain for the construction of buildings, as well as the channeling of nearby rivers to supply water to an estimated population of 10,000 inhabitants during its peak.
